How to activate the Auto Config feature of your GXP2130

The Auto-Config Feature is a must to keep your device safe and in working order with our service. Once you receive your new device, it's important to activate the Auto-Config feature.

This video will guide you to activate the Auto-Config feature of your GXP2130

Step-by-step guide

  • Press the Menu button (the round button in the middle)
  • Press the Left arrow 3 times until the System icon is highlighted
  • Press Menu to enter the System options
  • Press the Down arrow until you reach the Upgrade submenu
  • Press the Menu button to enter the Upgrade options
  • Once in the Upgrade submenu, press the Down arrow until the Config Server option is highlighted
  • Press the Menu button to change the Config Server address
  • Erase the current address by pressing multiple times BackSpace from the contextual buttons located under the screen
  • Make sure you are in Lowercase Mode by pressing the ABC button
  • Using the numerical keyboard, type prov.connexium.ca and then select Save
  • Once saved, you can wait a few seconds or press Dismiss to dismiss the popup notification
  • Lastly, right under the address we just entered, make sure the Upgrade Via is in HTTP mode. Not HTTPS or any other mode, then press Save
There are two "Upgrade Via" options, you will need to modify the second one under Config Server, not Firmware Server.

Phone reboot

It is strongly recommended to restart your device to force a Config Upgrade request. Do to so, please disconnect the Network and Power cable under your desk phone

Your desk phone should reboot once or twice depending on the type of upgrade needed. A firmware upgrade could also be triggered and typically last between 2 and 5 minutes to complete
