Remote call pick-up is a feature that allows an employee to answer a call that is ringing on another phone within the same organization. This can be done using a BLF (Busy Lamp Field) key on the employee's phone.

For example, imagine an office environment where an employee named "Samantha" is in a meeting and cannot answer her phone. Another employee, "John," sees that Samantha's phone is ringing and can press the BLF key associated with Samantha's phone to answer the call on her behalf. This allows the call to be answered even if the intended recipient is unavailable, ensuring that important calls do not go unanswered.

A BLF (Busy Lamp Field) key is a feature found on many IP phone systems that allows a user to see the status of other extensions on the system.

This is typically represented by a light on the user's phone that indicates whether the other extension is on a call, available, or unavailable. With a BLF key, an employee can quickly see the status of other extensions and, in the case of remote call pick-up, use it to answer a call that is ringing on another phone.

For example, in an office environment, an employee may be away from their desk but able to see that a call is coming in for another employee. Using the BLF key, they can remotely answer the call on their own phone and take the call, even though it was originally ringing on a different phone.
