A toll-free line, also known as a freephone number, is a telephone number that is free for the caller to dial, rather than to incur long-distance charges, as with a standard geographic phone number.

The charges for using the toll-free number are paid by the owner of the number, usually a business or organization and are typically prefixed with a special set of three-digit codes such as 800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844 and 833
Toll-free numbers are useful for businesses because they allow customers to call in without incurring charges, which makes it more likely that they will call. They are also useful for customer service, technical support, and other types of support lines.

On most of our plans, a toll-free number is considered a special add-on and will be billed monthly, usually including a specific amount of minutes. Any usage beyond this allocated usage will be considered overage and will be billed at the rate agreed upon. Some of our plans may include one toll-free number and may or may not include a monthly allocation of free minutes. Please refer to your service agreement for more information.

We are able to offer SMS-compatible toll-free numbers, meaning you will be able to send or receive text messages on your toll-free line to communicate with your customer.

Note that SMS-enabled toll-free per-minute rates differ from a non-SMS-capable toll-free service.

How Am I Billed For My Toll-Free Usage?

It's important to note that toll-free inbound minutes are billed monthly in 6-sec increments or 1/10th of a minute. The rate varies depending on the phone package you have.

Let's say a customer makes a call to your toll-free number that lasts for 4 minutes and 10 seconds. With 6-sec increment billing, the call would be billed as 4.2 minutes (or 4 minutes and 12 seconds) rather than rounding up to the next full minute, in this case, instead of 5 minutes.
